About Orientation Days

History

Orientation Days began in 2010.

The upcoming event will take place on September 19–20, 2024, in Olomouc. The course is designed to help students get oriented with the university, learn about study opportunities, and get acquainted with the city of Olomouc. You can look forward to lectures, seminars, a campus tour, and most importantly, a day with a senior student (trainer) from the same or a similar field of study. But Orientation Days mean much more than just a great atmosphere, new friendships, and lots of fun.

Our event has been providing valuable information to approximately 400 future students every year since 2010.

Thanks to us, your transition to university life will be smooth and enjoyable.

About Orientation Days

Orientation Days is an event with a 14-year tradition organized by AIESEC Olomouc, a student organization dedicated to empowering young individuals to become global leaders. The goal of the event is to offer first-year university students a comprehensive introduction to their university and the city in which it is located. With more than 400 student delegates, Orientation Days serve as a platform for students to connect, learn from each other, and discover new opportunities and experiences.

Through engaging workshops, informative sessions, and exciting activities, we aim to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge they need to make the most of their university journey. Join us for an unforgettable experience of personal and professional growth at Orientation Days.

The Event Includes:

Campus Tours: We provide guided tours of the university campus to help students get familiar with various buildings, facilities, and available resources.
City Exploration: Our organization arranges city tours so that students can discover the history, culture, and popular spots in the city where they will be studying.
Workshops and Seminars: We conduct interactive workshops and seminars on topics such as time management, study skills, and career planning to help students transition into university life.

Key Milestones

Inaugural Orientation Days (2010): The very first Orientation Days event organized by AIESEC Olomouc for first-year university students. It laid the foundation for future events and established the organization as a key player in welcoming new students into academic life.
Expansion of Orientation Days: Over the years, the event expanded to include not only university students but also high school students and international exchange participants, helping to create a more diverse and inclusive experience.

Event Overview

Students are divided into two groups based on their field of study or faculty. The program is split into main and secondary tracks over the two days. One group follows the main program on the first day, while the other follows the secondary program—then they switch on the second day so no one misses out. Both days are identical in structure.

Main Program – A Day with a Senior Student (Trainer):
- Tour of faculty buildings
- Introduction to study spaces
- Walk around Olomouc
- Visit to a popular local business
- Introduction to the faculty's operations
Secondary Program – Sessions with Trainers:
- Presentations from key university institutions
- Introduction to tools like UPlikace (university app), Science and Technology Park (VTP), and the Career Center
